Grazie al solito per la tua disponibilita' e simpatia:) eng: Do you have some books or manuals (about comics of course: anatomy, composition ecc) to recomend me? thanks a lot..maybe you are in Lucca now..vabbe..

Hi Del... I will be in Lucca on friday and saturday, but I'm not committed to any signings or booths this time, so I'll take my time and visit for the first time in almost 10 years... About your question, yes I'm mostly self-taught... Only manual I bought when I was doing that small but crucial comic class in 91, recommended by our teachers, was the famous one on anatomy by Burne Hogarth. Everything else, I guess I just picked it up by going thru and watching very carefully to thousands of comic books, posters, ads, cartoons and movies. I can't tell more, because there really is nothing I "studied", I simply tried to make mine and understand what I really loved in other artists' work. And that's what I keep on doing today.
Hope this will help you, let me know if you understood everything or if you need a translation. Hope to see you in Lucca.
Cheers C.

to Achim: these was not a question ^^'.. it was simply a reply to cammo ...the rule is one question for topic, and I translate mine i thinked my answer was not important for the community, so i'm sorry, and here is the translation I understood all things, i can translate from english, but im not good writing.. I'm studing by myself as you did, and if i know there is someone that became a pro no attending a school, it is very heartening! I will not go to Lucca, because there was any bed for me..maybe we will meet another time-another moment- another galaxy

There will be another occasion, Delundelf, don't worry... I was in Lucca just for a couple of days, and almost "undercover"... Since it was the first time I went there without having to sign and do sketches, I tried to take some time to talk with friends and relax...
Cheers C.

Hi there Bill, how are you? I am planning my trip these days... I will most definitely be there. The NY show was a blast for me as well, I really had a great time! Not to mention the fact that I hung out with great people, and that it's always fantastic being back to the Big Apple... This will be my 6th visit, and I can't get enough!
I do remember the sketch I did, I'm glad you liked it!
Cheers C.

Cammo, It was great meeting you. Like I said before, I was surprised to see you as an unannounced guest, but I recognized you from the interview you did for the DC site about "The Intimates" series. I had this custom bound hardcover of that complete series that I had you sign: i54.photobucket.com/albums/g104/wanolan/hardcovers/nolan_dec_1.jpgNow if only Joe Casey would come to the NY show next time, then I would have that book signed by the entire creative team! - Bill

Yo namor! Thanks for your praise, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I normally don't do commissions (so far, I still haven't done one yet outside of the ones at conventions), and my schedule is scary enough to forbid me to indulge on other stuff. I guess I'll have to wait at least 5-6 months before trying to consider doing some. But I should go to the NY con in February, so if you live in the US and are planning to come, maybe I could do something for you there.
Cheers C.

Hey Fredo... I would've loved to come to Angouleme (I haven't missed one since 2000, and everybody knows hom much I love the Festival) but I regretfully have to stay home and work... I've recently been filled with more pages to do than I thought, and for this reason I'll have to skip a lot of planned trips... New York as well, unfortunately... And that's another city and Convention that I'll really miss... Both of these happenings are always great to me, both for seeing you guys, and also for hanging out with the other artists and professionals that I only get to see there...!
Have some drinks on me gentlemen...! Cheers and happy new year to everybody! Cammo

Hi Lenni, happy new year to you too and thanks for your praise of Bonerest. Me and Matteo Casali are absolutely intentioned to do new stories of Bonerest, and to end one day the saga of Bone and Co. and of the end of a world. There's been some problems though, one is the fact that we've been offered to work in the years on some very cool projects and characters from other publishers, and it becomes more and more difficult to say no to such an honor (for example, the (in)famous Batman: Europa which I'm working on right now). The second is that sales for the book are ok worldwide, but not sufficient to pay alone our bills, that's why we have to work on other books.
BUT we absolutely want to go on, I know it might take some time (and patience from you affectionate readers and fans) but we'll find a way. We owe it to you and to the book itself, which is the reason why we are working in comics now. I've started thinking of solutions like doing layouts and have someone else doing the finishes (someone I trust and like, of course... Bonerest is my baby too), so something will be done.
Sorry again to everybody interested in the story and in the comicbook in general, there will be a sequel, for sure.
Thanks Cheers C.

Hey there Bill... As much as I would've loved to be there, unfortunately it's a mistake. I confirm that I am not going to the NYC show... I don't even know who I should write to in order to correct that communication, I'll try with my editor on 52.
Yeah, I don't know if you guys knew because the credits are wrong even in DC's website, but I've pencilled Week 41 of the maxiseries "52" and I am currently wrapping up Week 47 (in between painting pages of Batman Europa). It is quite an honor being part of that event, and especially to be able to work with writers like Grant Morrison & Co., whom I never had the chance to work with before!
Thanks for letting me know this, though, Bill...
I'll try to come to NY maybe after summer, and maybe arrange some signing session in town!
Cheers C.
