Giuseppe CAMUNCOLI was born in Reggio Emilia on 2/3/75.
He attends a comic class in Reggio in 1990, and with the other students they form a comics laboratory that eventually gives birth to the magazine "Arena" (three numbers in all) on whose pages he publishes his first jobs.
The debut as a comics professional happened in 1997 with the BONEREST publication, a comic strip created with writer Matteo Casali with whom he forms the studio Innocent Victim. Later on, he publishes two episodes on the two volumes of the series QUEBRADA (Innocent Victim) and on the anthology FRONTIERA (Black Velvet), but it is with the collection in volume of first single issues of BONEREST (STRANGE DAYS, Magic Press) that Cammo begins to show his job in the United States.
From November 2000, in fact, CAMMO began his collaboration with DC Comics (from New York USA), historical publishing house of Batman and Superman for which he realized issues of comics series SWAMP THING, HELLBLAZER, BATGIRL and miniseries VERTIGO POP: BANGKOK, co-created by Camuncoli and writer Jonathan Vankin.
He has also worked, in 2002, with Brian Azzarello on a story of SPIDER-MAN for the anthology TANGLED WEB (Marvel Comics).
Since 2001 he's the cover artist of the Italian edition of manga TIGER MASK (saldaPress). Recently he has been working again with Matteo Casali on his BONEREST saga, the same one that helped him launching his career in the US, giving print to two new volumes that have been or that will soon be translated also in foreign countries (France, Germany and USA). In January, at the Angouleme comic festival, Panini France has indeed published the first album of BONEREST in hardcover, under the title of "Droles de Temps".
At the moment CAMMO is working on a new comics series for the USA market entitled THE INTIMATES (written by Joe Casey and inked by Sandra Hope) for the WildStorm/DC Comics run by Jim Lee. Jim Lee, which is the creator of the series together with Casey and Cammo, will also be drawing the covers of the series, and doing some vignettes here and there inside the pages of the comic book.
