Giuseppe Camuncoli will draw the transposition to comics of an italian novel: "La neve se ne frega" written by a famous italian rocker, Luciano Ligabue. Texts will be by Matteo Casali (Bonerest, Quebrada, Catwoman), and colours by Cosimo Pancini. Here i link more info and previews www.paninicomics.it/Evento.jsp?Action=Carica&Id=10555unfortunately it's only in italian "La neve se ne frega" is a science fiction novel set in 2100; more info about Luciano Ligabue here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luciano_Ligabue

Hey everybody. Good old Fredo asked me to explain a little more about this project.
Well, so far Michele said pretty much everything we can officially say. All the images you can find following the links are the ones that Panini has allowed us to show.
The Graphic Novel will be 120 pages totally, and it really kicks ass. Ligabue sent us a copy of his novel and me and Matteo Casali read it and liked it so much that we accepted his offer to adapt it into a comic book. I knew Ligabue for his songs, and I never thought he could've written such an interesting book, especially since it has a sci-fi setting, which is completely different from anything else he's done in his songs or movies (besides being one of Italy's most famous songwriters, he also directed two movies).
I am done with the first 80 pages, and I love the way they look. I really hope that the book will be strong enough to convince Panini or other publishers worldwide to translate it in other countries...
As soon as I have some more news, I'll post them!
Cheers everybody! C.

Thanks for the explanation Cammo!
I can't wait to see more : the pages shown are very promising! I hope the GN will be published outside Italy (even if I never heard about Ligabue).

sorry guys if I have revealed an item of news too much in advance ;D but was a such news ... and furthermore there is a question which is necessary ask Cammo about this sudden interest towards the comics by people who have never read a page of comic or perhaps who have always criticized this art form (I do not refer to Ligabue, I'm a fan of him ;D). But maybe it is better I wait that reopen the space "QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO CAMMO", to formulate better my question bye

Ciao Michele, actually it was our idea. We had this project of asking famous (mostly italian, because of our connections) musicians and songwriters to come up with an original idea, a plot, a twist for a comicbook (short) story, and then possibly have a limited series or an anthology in which these stories would be collected. For reasons too complicated to explain, this project would be too difficult and too big to do, but I found a connection with Ligabue's manager and decided to give it a try with him, and see if he was interested and maybe others would follow. It was Ligabue who put two and two together, and since he didn't have time to come up with a new story, he offered us to make an adaptation of his novel. He liked our comics, especially BONEREST, and we read the novel and liked it, so that's basically how we ended up on LNSNF. That said, I have no idea of the reason why everybody now is interested in comics, could be the movies, could be a new wave of "hipness"... Personally, it's all good. It will be the readers, as always, who will say if a comicbook is good or not!
Cheers C.

Thanks for the explanation Cammo and for your time! it is obvious ;D I remain of the opinion that fans of the last minute are not able to give an objective judgement immediately...it's as if someone suggested that I judge a chinese vase ;D...who ever cared chinese vases??! I don't understand nothing approximately that argument ...it's just an example ;D However better i stop me here; well, I do not want to be critical without end; will be nice to share my passion with (maybe...we hope!) million of new comics readers (hoping that from each other there will be who will acquire the product because seriously, in bottom to the heart, it appeals to it...and not becouse of it's a new "hip") At last, final compliments to Ligabue...i like much his songs, his music, but i like more his tests..how he write (except poetries ;D)...he's a kind of "factotum" ;D...the presuppositions for a great graphic-novel there are all guys, make us dream!

Hey Guenter, thanks a lot!
I actually celebrated my birthday in Mantova, at the Comic Convention, while signing copies of "LA NEVE SE NE FREGA" (it was an incredible success, also because of the cover and print that Gabriele and I did together) and doing sketches between my great friends and artists Gabriele Dell'Otto, Marko and Jelena Djurdjevic, Esad Ribic, Simone Bianchi and so many others.
Not the most boring way of celebrating, anyway.
Thanks again
Cheers to you! C.
